‘James Bond’ stunt ensemble performs in Fajr movies

A stunt ensemble for a James Bond movie has performed in Fajr Festival movies.

A group of stuntmen performing in the 007 James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ has acted in some Iranian movies submitted to Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The Fast Forward Team coordinated by internationally acclaimed Iranian stuntman Amir Badri performed stunts for ten Iranian movies applying for the latest edition of Fajr Film Festival, including those directed by Masoud Kimiaee, Mehran Modiri and Mani Baqbani.

Badri is Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award winner for the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture as a stunt performer for the 007 James Bond movie ‘Skyfall.’

He also worked with well-established stunt directors at the international level such as Andy Armstrong and Gary Powell who designed action sequences for many Hollywood movies such as the ‘Amazing Spider Man2’.

The Iranian outstanding stuntman performed the action-packed scenes for four Iranian movies vying at the Sodae Simorgh section of Fajr.

Fajr Festivals are annually held in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn) which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The screening sessions will last for 8 days from February 2 until February 9.
